Privacy and Data Protection

In line with General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and as a registered professional with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) I manage your data as follows:

Client information including full name, email and contact telephone number and GP contact details. I may also collect the details of other mental health professionals with whom you are in contact.

Brief handwritten anonymised notes recording the themes of our therapy sessions.

I use client information and notes to engage in my work with you, organise our appointments, record attendance for tax purposes and cover myself for legal purposes.

Hand written notes and contracts are stored securely in a locked filing cabinet.

Electronic data is password protected.

In accordance with professional, legal and insurance requirements, data is stored for a period of seven years from the end of our work together. At the end of this period it is destroyed and disposed of as confidential waste.

Your anonymised contact details on my telephone will be deleted once our work ends along with any emails and messages.

Data will, in the event of my death or incapacity, be shared with my Professional Executor to inform you of such.

I will never share your data with a third party unless I have your written permission, or I am obliged to do so by law. In this rare event, I would inform you first.
